BFP has performed at hundreds of theaters, international festivals, parades, universities and schools, delighting audiences for about 19 years. Recently the group was featured in the movie Soy Andina,traveled overseas to perform in Mexico and Canada, and awarded in Perú as Orgullo Peruano 2008, among many other achievements.
BFP was founded in New York City in 1991 by three Peruvian dancers Amparo Soria and Nélida Silva from the Andes, and Luis Iturre from Lima – who were eager to bring the rich traditional dances of their homeland to their new home in the Unites States.
The mission of BFP is to preserve, spread and teach Peruvian culture through performing arts creating a positive impact nationwide.
